Release Notes: Version 1.9

A lot has happened in the last few week for the Huddled product. A lot of it you wont be able to see, on the backend we have been hard at improving the performance, responsiveness, notifications and of course the inevitable bug fixes. We are of course always working on this, always looking to improve the experience for the students and teachers using Huddled in their classes.

But, here are some of the cool things you will see:

Express Who You are Through Short Funny Videos… AKA GIFs

Yes finally, they’re here. Now, where you need them most, you can share GIFs in Group chats, DMs or even leave them as comments. All you have to do is click the GIF button, and pure joy is at your finger tips. You’re welcome.

Of Course We Support Markdown

We’re making it easier to get your message across. For a little while now, we have supported markdown in our posts and messages… but it was a little confusing for those who haven’t studied computer science.

Now it’s easy for the rest of us. Just highlight a piece of text and select what ever formatting your heart desires.

Share Whatever You Need

To date, Huddled has only supported the sharing of photo or pdfs. However, now in Huddled 1.9 you can share just about anything to your communities. That is all kinds of media, photos and videos. All kinds of documents, slides, and files.

A better interface for Direct Messages

We felt that the DM’s experience in Huddled needed work. So we did something about it. We rebuilt the layout making it easier for you to navigate your ongoing conversations and instead of tabs, you can simply sort your list of conversations by connections or subgroups.

It’s not only more logical… but, it just looks and feels better.

BONUS:

We made chats easy to interact with on mobile, now you can hold on a message to bring up the reply and reporting options.

and

You can viewing past media and files shared in conversations by clicking on the chat titles.

Join the conversations with Anonymous Posting

We know that many students struggle to ask questions or get involved in conversations because of they feel like they might be judged by others. This hinders their learning experiences because they miss opportunities to engage in important topics. So, to make these hard times easier, we have introduced Anonymous posting and messaging to give students the extra layer of privacy they need.

They even post with cute little faces!

Plus the little things

We even added things in there like a Tooltip on subgroups, better formatting of unit and subgroup titles, sounds for in-app notifications, improved notifications badging, a new onboarding video experience for students and plenty more that is tucked away nicely on the backend!

That’s all for now, see you next time!
